Wendy Oppenheim

Wendy Oppenheim

Wendy is a retired Registered Nurse , with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Management who held varies positions in the health care business from 1971 until her retirement in 2009. A mother of 3 grown children retirement was so enticing. She was looking forward to relaxation, time for grandkids, and time to travel, however that is not the path she took.

After moving from Dutchess County, NY to Corning, NY in 2011 along with her husband, Bob, a Licensed Certified Social Worker they were intrigued by up and coming Olive Oil Specialty Stores. After using Olive Oils from a specialty store they were so impressed on the difference good olive oil and balsamic vinegars tasted as opposed to what they purchased in a grocery store, they decided that this is a business that would be fun as well as rewarding.

Wendy had no retail experience but was ready to take the challenge. It took many hours of research to find the right supplier for her Olive Oils and Balsamic Vinegars as well as finding the right store location based on demographics and market analysis.

After living in Corning, NY for a short period of time it was evident that the historical downtown market place was just the right place to open an Olive Oil Store.

Crystal City Olive Oil, LLC was formed in 2012 and the door to the first store was opened in November of 2012. An On Line business was also established where most of products can be purchansed as well as finding many recipes using the oils and balsamic vinegars. After enjoying much success with this store and building a loyal customer base a second store was opened in Owego in October of 2013. A third store was opened in Vestal, NY in 2014. Just when they thought that 3 stores were enough, they opened a 4th store in Homer, NY in 2016.

Crystal City Olive Oil, LLC is dedicated to bring only the finest Extra Virgin Olive Oils, Fused and Infused Oils, Barrel Aged Balsamic Vinegars and Specialty Oils to the customer. We are a fun place to shop. In our stores you get to taste all the oils and vinegars before you buy. Our trained staff will assist you in selecting the right products based on your individual needs and tastes. Our importer, Veronica Foods out of California is cited as being one of the safe places to get your oils from. There is no fraud in our oils.
