Dr. Andrew Batsis & Katherine J. Batsis
Dr. Andrew Batsis was a Dentist by profession, a caring Kiwanian by nature and a loving husband to Katherine J. Batsis. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 6th, 1941. He graduated from Asbury Park High School in 1958 and attended Monmouth College.
Dr. Batsis first went into college at Tufts University in 1963, however, after returning to New Jersey he continued his studies on Monmouth College and got his degree at the said college in 1965. He graduated in New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry (Rutgers School of Medicine), and obtained his license to practice his profession in New Jersey.
One of the things that was notable of Dr. Batsis while doing his job was him making his patients as comfortable as possible and his warm smiles. Dr. Batsis always explained the procedures very well and gave options on how the treatment will go. He will always let his patients feel like family, giving them everything he got to help with healing them, as well as with setting up a fee schedule for working families.
For 35 years, Dr. Batsis never failed his patients and received such love and respect from them. Kiwanis has also become a large part of Dr. Batsis’ life since 1971. He was inspired the Kiwanis Objects and has cemented his presence in Toms River, New Jersey, where he lived most of his life.
Dr. Batsis was elected Governor of New Jersey Kiwanis after being well know in the community for a while, he later became an international figure for Kiwanis which led him to become a Kiwani Internation Trustee and committee chair of youth services and many more roles in the society.
Dr. Batsis is now known not only as a wonderful dentist but a hero to the youth he mentored and to all of the lives he touched, may it be family or friends.

Katherine J. Batsis is an author, publisher, official biographer and beloved wife of the late Dr. Andrew Batsis. Katherine is a graduate of Lesley College and Simmons College, where she received B.Ed and L.S. respectively.
For the past few years, Katherine has been working on her husband’s biography, Dr. Andrew Batsis, Husband! Dentist! Kiwanian! Santa Claus? – the book tells more than just a biography but presents a life of a man whose legacy still continues.
Katherine Batsis was recently named Author of the Year and has several designations such as Lifetime Roundtable and the Top Female Executive and leaders program, these aforementioned titles was given based on a person’s experience, accomplishment, ambition and with all of the things they have contributed to the society.
